The not so simple truth

In Putin‘s Russia
The not so simple truth is printed
Three times each week
“Pravda” they call it
Their newspaper spreading “the truth”
In Russian
A paper that is ironically
Full of lies
Deception
And propaganda
Promoting Putin’s fantasies
And distortions
Along with his grand plans
And the slaughter of innocents

Meanwhile
The repression
The corruption
The decadence
The crimes
And the stupidity
Of Putin’s regime
All of these remain hidden from view
Swept under the rug
As his war stumbles along
With thousands dead and dying
His dream of empire and triumph
A ghastly nightmare
His crimes against humanity
Mounting daily
While Pravda spreads
The not so simple truth
