Poetry by Jamie McKenzie

Maybe

Would you
Could you
Pack your bag
Tie up your hair
Strawberry bow
Or raspberry ribbon
Your fancy hat
Your velvet dress
And scarlet dancing shoes

You grab a cab
Then hop on a plane
Or maybe a train
Heading to France
The City of Lights
Paris and me
Awaiting you
Arms spread wide
A bottle of champagne
Two dozen roses
A billion kisses
And a warm embrace

A man who loves you
All through the night
And into the morning
Touching you where you love it most

Until coffee
And fresh croissant in hand
You slide dreamily
Into the day
Knowing there is more to come
And this is just the beginning
A prelude
A small taste of a love
That is grand
Delicious
And simply magnificent
