Dream lovers

You are a dream
For sure
Un ręve
Un sueńo
In the window’s light
You are the woman I wanted
Back then
Years ago
Last week
Next year
And each time I may see a sliver of moon
Smiling at me

I long to step into your room
Raspberry red tulips
Brie
Baguette
And Shiraz in hand
Lean over to kiss you
Whisper your name
Again and again
Tenderly
But there is an ocean
Some mountains
And a laptop screen
That loom large
Blocking the love
The passion
And all but the desire

And my heart soars
But it is a dream
Un ręve
Un sueńo
A poem
A song
A wish
A maybe

And then we wander the old city
Kraków
The Cloth Hall
Rynek G?ówny
Hand in hand
Taking our sweet time
As the sun sets

We sit outside
Whispering sweet nothings
But it is a dream
Un ręve
Un sueńo
A poem
A song
A wish
A maybe

Later we stop for flowers
Then wine
And fresh tomatoes
Boston lettuce
Red onions
Mushrooms
And avocados
Red wine vinegar
And Extra Virgin oil
The makings of a fine salad
But it is a dream
Un ręve
Un sueńo
A poem
A song
A wish
A maybe

We hold the dream
Each of us
For days
Like a feather
In our hands
And then suddenly we breathe out
So the dream floats lazily up and away into the sky
Rising past the clouds
To hang on the citron slice of moon
While our hands
Now empty
Touch
