The accused

The loser-in-chief
Could not go away
Could not concede
Could not accept his defeat gracefully
Like all those who lost before him
He could not obey the law
Could not honor the Constitution
Nor the oath he had sworn

The loser-in-chief
Disgraced and defeated
Had to whine
Had to whinge
Had to lie and cheat
Claiming fouls
And fakery
That had never really happened
Making up falsehoods
And trumped-up stories

The loser-in-chief
Charged with heinous crimes
Faces a bigger loss
Now
As prison walls
And doors
Beckon to him
“Enter here!”
Whisper to him
Like the Greek sirens of old
We’re ready for you
Waiting for you
Hungry for you
Come and stay with us
Forever
And ever
And ever
