First Things First8. Monitor and adjust program elements and strategies in response to experienceIn line with the assessment outlined above, each school will need a committee to adjust the program as more is learned about what is working and what is not. Tempting though it is to walk away from this challenge once network installation is complete, the installation is merely a prelude to program development. Perhaps because of wildly exaggerated promises and forecasts of benefits likely to emerge thanks to networking, many schools fail to install the human decision-making apparatus that is required to convert this investment in networking from what some might call "Fool's Gold" into something of real value. Without ongoing leadership and program development, it is unlikely that the network will make much of an impact upon student learning. |
